or thereabouts a wittnesse sworne and examined saith<br />
and deposeth as followeth videlicet
To the 1: 2: and 3 articles hee saith hee this deponent was Co[?xk]son<br />
of the shipp ''hercules'' the voyage in question and thereby knoweth that<br />
in September October November and december one thousand sixe<br />
hundred ffifty two the sayd shipp served the state of England as a shipp<br />

to the Eastward of the Nesse hee engaged part of the fleete and then<br />
standing to the Northwards endeavoured to get under Sanga[?t]e Castle<br />
