of iron bound caske, one hundred and a halfe of New Cordage, foure<br />
hundred weight of Junck and a parcell of New Canvas, and<br />
saith the same were all received aboard and imployed in and about the<br />
said shipp the ''Triall'', for her necessarie use, and that shee had soe much<br />
neede thereof, that without the said goods and materialls (or other the like)<br />
shee could not have proceeded to sea on a voyage from the place where<br />
shee then lay, All which hee knoweth because hee this deponent (being<br />
boatswaine of the said Pooles shipp the ''Guift'') did by order of the said<br />
William Poole deliver the said goods and materialls, and saw them soe<br />
imployed upon the ''Triall''./
To the fourth and 5th article[s] and schedule hee saith that the said goods and<br />
materialls were the time aforesaid of such their delivery well worth the<br />
severall and respective summes schedulated, amounting in all to sixteene<br />
pounds sterling, and soe much the said Rogers then agreed to pay for them<br />
to the said mr [?Poole], and otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose.
To the 6th hee referreth himselfe to the Refistrie of this Court, and<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the seaventh hee cannot depose.
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true.

To the first article hee saith that hee this deponent before the warrs<br />
with Spaine namely above three yeares since,<br />
was at T[?artoodas] an Iland neare hispianiola taken prisoner by the<br />
Spaniards and carried prisoner to Santa domingo in hispaniola, and there<br />
kept till about eight monethes since<br />
that hee was going thence to Cadiz in a Spanish shipp which was taken by the English. And saith that<br />
the said shipp wherein hee was taken was the ''Nicholas'' arlate and that shee<br />
had then aboard her (besides other goods) severall parcells of tobaccoe<br />
which since they were taken out of the said shipp were brought to this<br />
