Peterson of Larwick her then owner for a valewable<br />
summe of money, which they know being present at the said buying<br />
and selling and witnesses to the bargaine, and seeing part of<br />
the money paid by the said Tomas Russell who was then there<br />
and bought her for account of himselfe and of the said white

Merchant aged 33 yeares or thereabouts sworne before<br />
the right worshipfull John Godolphin doctor of Lawes one of<br />
the Judges of the High Court of the Admiralty of<br />
England saith and deposeth by vertue of his Oath as<br />
ffolloweth
That the ship the ''Oake Tree'' whereof Thomas Courtman<br />
is Master of the burthen of about 350 Tonne or<br />
thereabouts doth belong to this Port of London And that this deponent and James Ward, (who<br />
were and are both English Men and Subiects of this Comonwealth<br />
of England) Are the true, Lawfull, and sole owners of the<br />
said shipp, and of her tackle Apparrell, ffurniture Gunns<br />
and Amunition, and all the Appurtenances whatsoever<br />
thereunto belonging, And saith that the said ship was by<br />
the foresayd James Ward, bought at Amsterdam, about two<br />
Monthes since, ffor this deponent and the said Wards owne<br />
Account, And is Intended by the said Owners to be<br />
forthwith Imployed on a Voyage to the English<br />
Plantations in the West Indies, and Virginia, for and<br />
upon their owne Proper Accounts and Adventures
