To the second and third articles hee saith and deposeth that hee this exáminate<br />
as a merchant was resident at and frequented the Canarie Islands<br />

during which space hee saith hee saw the said producent alsoe trading there<br />
as a merchant, and when this deponent about fifteene monethes<br />

To the fourth hee saith hee well knoweth alsoe the arlate Thomas<br />
Clercq, who hee saith was resident at the Canaries when this<br />
deponent soe came thense, and was and is commonly reputed a<br />
dutchman and a subiect of the States of the United Netherlands.<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fifth hee saith that by the said producent hee this deponent<br />
received letteres from written by and from this deponents correspondent<br />
ffrancisco Cruz, residing at Oratavo in the said Islands, wherein<br />
the said Cruz advised this exáminate that the said producent<br />
had bought a quantitie of Indigo and other goods Indian<br />
goods in the said Islands, and had laded them aboard the shipp the<br />
''Morning Starr'' of Amsterdam, and went him selfe in the same shipp recommended with<br />
his said goods to Balthazar Rubin of Amsterdam, And otherwise hee cannot<br />
depose, saving hee soe received the said letteres after the seizure<br />
of the said shipp and goods.
To the sixth hee saith there was and is pease and ámitie betweene<br />
this Commonwealth and the Republique of Genoa, and their<br />
respective subiects./

To the first hee saith hee the more certainly knoweth the said<br />
Rosetti to be a native of Voltra aforesaid in the said dominion of<br />
Genoa, for that this deponent hath frequented the said place<br />
of Voltra and hath bin severall times at the house of the said<br />
producents father having lands adioyning the said place. And<br />
otherwise hee cannot answer, saving as aforesaid.
