aged 45 yeeres or thereabouts sworne<br />
and examined.

To the first and second Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth<br />
that in the moneth of March 1656 there was sold by<br />
Mr John Tivell of London Merchant unto Mr Samuel Browne<br />
and Mr Richard [?Boylie] Grocers one hundred thirtie and five barralls or thereabouts<br />
of raisans of the sun, and one hundred eightie two peeces<br />
of peece raisins or thereabouts, at the rate and price of<br />
fourtie foure shillings per cent for the barrells, and twenty<br />
seaven shillings per cent for the peeces, which hee knoweth<br />
because hee this deponent at the instance of the said buyers<br />
weighed them off for them the said buyers Mr Browne<br />
and Mr Boylie and since the delivery of them by their order#

parcells mentioning<br />
sale of those goods at<br />
those rates,/
And their deponent was credibly informed and beleeveth<br />
that the said parcells of raisans were brought to London in<br />
a ship called the ''Noahs arke'', which was said to come from<br />
Callice having bin carried thither by a man of warr<br />
belonging to that place, which man of warr (as<br />
it was alsoe said) plundered out of her a quantitie<br />
of barrells and [?peeces] of raisins.
To the third hee cannot depose, saving as aforesaid.
To the fourth hee saith that hee this deponent upon the<br />
said weighing the said raisins off clearly found and perceived<br />
that the barrells and peeces were much defective and wanting<br />
[?with] their contents and quantitie of raisins which had bin laded<br />
originally in them in Spaine according to what appeared by the caskes and fro[XXXs] and [?then] such defect and want<br />
of quantitie happened as hee after perceived and beleeveth<br />
by plundering, imbeazealing or filching, and<br />
that such plundering and imbeazealing happened<br />
(as their deponent was told) by such the said shipp her seizure<br />
and carrying into Callice; and as this deponent computed the<br />
defect. there was soe plundered and wanting about fourteene<br />
hundred weight of raisins of the sun and about six hundred weight<br />
of peece raisins,
