amended and shee made a serviceable shipp fitt to undertake a voyage<br />
without the charge and<br />
expence of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling at the least, for that shee<br />
cannot bee made firme and fitt to undertake a voyage without takeing out<br />
her whole stemme (part whereof yet remaynes) and this hee being a<br />
shipwright by profession, well knoweth to be true And further cannot depose./<br />
Upon the rest of the articles of this allegation hee is not examined by<br />
direction of the producent./

Surrey Shippwright aged forty six yeares or<br />
thereabouts a wittnesse sworne and examined saith and<br />
deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the second article of the sayd allegation upon which<br />
alone hee is by direction of the producent examined hee saith<br />
hee this deponent and his precontest henry Berrie being Shipwrights<br />
by trade did upon or about Satterday the one and twen[?tith GUTTER]<br />
of this instant ffebruary at the request of the producent Mr Lee<br />
take a view of the shipp the ''Samuell'' arlate then lying at<br />
Rederiff and upon the view by them made did finde that the sayd<br />
shipps head and forecastle and sternend were broken downe and five of [?her GUTTER]<br />
beames of her upper deck and her upper decke it selfe also broken down<br />
and shee otherwise bruised and hurt, which dammage (as hee hath re[?adily GUTTER]<br />
heard) was done by reason a shipp whereof one Otter was Master<br />
came fowle of the ''Samuell'' running from New Castle And<br />
saith that haveing seriously considered of the dammage appeareing to<br />
be done to the ''Samuell'' hee this deponent in his Judgment and<br />
estimate is fully perswaded that the sayd dammage cannot bee amended<br />
and repayred under a hundred and fifty pounds sterling at least<br />
and if hee this deponent were to undertake the repayre of her being<br />
a shipwright hee would not undertake to doe the same for any [?lesse GUTTER]<br />
