December 1656 on behalfe of the sayd Edward Goslin<br />
and others./

saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the third article of the sayd allegation hee saith that the<br />
arlate Maundrye and Goslin and the rest of the Company of the arlate<br />
Shipp the ''Owners Adventure'' had upon or about the second day<br />
of June 1656 last past brought the sayd Shipp within five two or three<br />
leagues of Bell poynt and the sayd Port of Bell Point then<br />
bore North East of the sayd shipp, and being gotten thither there<br />
being a Shipp of which the arlate Pybus was Master and other English shipps there lyeing<br />
the arlate Thomas Damerell went aboard the sayd Pybus his<br />
shipp, and the sayd Pibus soone after the sayd Damerells comming<br />
aboard him sett sayle with his the sayd Pybus Shipp and the sayd<br />
Damerell on board it from the Port ward of Bell point and the sayd<br />
Damerell continued aboard the sayd Pybus his shipp about tenne<br />
howers not takeing care to come aboard his owne shipp againe, in<br />
which tyme the said Pybus his shipp sayled about tenn leagues<br />
from Bellpoint aforesayd, and the arlate Maundrey Goslin and<br />
the rest of the Company of the ''Owners Adventure'' seeing the sayd<br />
Damerell continue aboard the sayd Pybus his shipp and sayle<br />
in her off from the sayd Bellpoint did followe the sayd Pybus<br />
his shipp with the ''Owners Adventure'' and after they had followed<br />
her the sayd Tenn leagues or thereabout the sayd Damerell then came<br />
againe on board the ''Owners Adventure'' whereas this deponent heard<br />
the sayd Maundrey and Goslin and others of the Company of the<br />
''Owners Adventure'' and some of the harponeeres alsoe on board her<br />
say that among themselves while the sayd Damerell was on board<br />
the sayd Pybus his shipp that they expected and hoped that the sayd<br />
Damerell would rather have come on board his shipp ''Owners''<br />
