28 yeares or thereabouts sworne and exámined
To the said allegation he saith and deposeth that on<br />
munday last past the said shipp the ''Gyant'' being adrift neere<br />
Limehouse hee this deponent and his contest Jacob Warner<br />
went aboard her, and brought her up to Shadwell and there<br />
moved her, and found and sawe that shee was in<br />
a perishing condition and much perished and leakie, insomuch<br />
she takes in much water soe that if shee be not mended<br />
shee will sinke by her leakinesse, and that shee is many<br />
other wayes decayed and in ill condition, and will be still<br />
worse and worse by lying unlesse shee be speedily repaired<br />
being an old decayed vessell: And saith hee hath skill in the<br />
condition of shipping having bin longe and often at sea<br />
in shipps. And otherwise hee cannot depose

To the said allegation hee saith hee well knoweth the shipp<br />
the ''Gyant'' allegated and hath soe donne theise three yeeres<br />
last and hath sailed in her often , and saith that on munday<br />
and tuesday last this deponent and his precontest Samuel Lindsey<br />
seeing her adrift neere Limehouse went aboard her on<br />
tuesday, and with other help brought her up to Shadwell and<br />
moored her, and that hee found and sawe and well knoweth<br />
that shee was and is in a perishing condition, and much [XXXX GUTTER]<br />
and leakin, and hath taken in much water, and will be [XXXX GUTTER]<br />
