To the 17th hee answereth negativley for his part; saving that hee<br />
holdeth it prudent and dutie for a master to followe his principalls<br />
orders, but true it is, of hee this deponent or a master were by<br />
his imployers left to his owne discretion for going or staying<br />
or managing the voyage hee would stay some dayes for a Convoy if<br />
hee found it necessary, but without Commission hee ought not<br />
from his principalls (where hee is in moneths pay hee<br />
ought not to stay upon any consideration, and otherwise hee cannot<br />
answere.
To the 18th hee saith the prices vary both of woolls and cottons, galls<br />
and that hee was not there the time interrate, and otherwise hee<br />
cannot answere saving as aforesaid.
To the 19th hee saith hee knoweth the interrate hughes, and otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose.
To the 20th hee answereth negatively for his part and<br />
otherwise saving as aforesaid hee cannot answer.
To the last hee saith that Convoyes are to servre shipps under<br />
their charge from takeing as much as is there is, and otherwise<br />
saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose.
