Transcription The same day. Examined upon the said alleThe same day. Examined upon the said allegation. '''Rp. 2.''' '''Edward Cullier''' of Debtford Mariner, aged 30 yeeres<br /> or thereabouts, sworne and exámined. To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth<br /> that the voyage in question there was a servant carried in<br /> the shipp the ''Little George'' from England to the Barbadas, who was by<br /> the generalitie of the shipps company accounted to be the servant<br /> of Christopher Mitchell the Master, and saith that six<br /> pounds is the ordinary rate payable for the passage of a<br /> servant from England thether; further saith that the said<br /> Mitchell from the Canaries to the Barbadas carried seaven<br /> pipes of wine for his owne account, and at the Barbasas<br /> invested them into tobaccoes, which<br /> were carried to Tituan on the coast of Barbary, but how<br /> many Roles there was of the said tobaccoes hee saith hee knoweth<br /> not, the premisses hee deposeth being one of the ships company<br /> and seeing the same soe donne. And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the second hee saith the arlate Mark and Peters received<br /> wages of the freighters factors the said voyage as they have<br /> acknowledged to this deponent, but howe much hee knoweth<br /> not. To the Interrogatories, [CENTRE HEADING] To the first hee saith hee was a common man in the said<br /> shipp the said voyage, and served 20 monethes in her at 23s<br /> per moneth, and that Christofer Mitchell was master of her<br /> and deserved five pounds per moneth for his service, and saith<br /> mr harris was one of the freighters of the said shipp, and the<br /> freighters were to pay the mariners wages, which hee knoweth<br /> because hee this deponent was paid by their factors. And otherwise<br /> hee cannot depose. To the second hee saith the said shipp was about one and twenty<br /> or two and twenty monethes out upon the said imployment, and<br /> otherwise hee cannot answer. To the third hee cannot answer. To the 4th hee saith that all or some of the said Mitchells said tobaccoes was<br /> aboard when the shipp arived at Tituan, and was there taken<br /> ashore by mr horne the freighters factor. And saith that the<br /> said Mitchell dying the said voyage at Antego, his clothes were<br /> sold at the mast, and this deponent bought some thereof, and<br /> had the money therefore due, abated by the freighters factors<br /> out of his wages.
