or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and examined<br />
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the sixth article of the sayd allegation and the schedule therein<br />
mentioned hee saith that hee this deponent hath very well knowne<br />
the arlate ffrancis Trenchpaine the yonger for these five or six yeares<br />
last past, and within that tyme hath has frequent correspondance with<br />
him in merchandizing affayres, and receaved divers letters from<br />
him and seene him write divers tymes, and thereby is well acquainted<br />
with his handwriting, and doth by virtue of his oath declare that<br />
hee verily beleeveth and is persuaded in his conscience that the schedule<br />
arlate now shewed unto him this deponent and by him seriously<br />
perused and observed at the tyme of this his examination was and<br />
is all of it the proper hand writing of the sayd ffrancis Trenchpaine<br />
Junior And further to this article hee cannot depose./

To the first hee saith hee cometh to testifie in this cause being required<br />
soe to doe by Mr Robert Bowden in behalfe of the producent de Richards<br />
and saith hee hath receaved nothing for his testimony therein nor expecteth any<br />
thing And to the rest of the Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively.
To the 2 hee cannot depose not knowing anything touching the matter<br />
Interrogate./
To the 3 hee saith hee hath lately within these two moneths last past<br />
seene a bill of ladeing in the hands of the Interrogate John Tufton<br />
and signed (as his beleeveth) with this the hand of the Interrogate<br />
Robert Bowden wherein expressed to this effect videlicet that the linnen in question<br />
being three bales or fardles were laden aboard the sayd Bowdens shipp the<br />
''Morlaix Merchant'' by the Interrogate Trenchpaine for the riske and<br />
Accompt of the Interrogate Lewis de Sormeaux to be transported to<br />
London and there delivered to the sayd John Tufton And further to this<br />
