is for 150 baggs or sacks of galls, which said 150 baggs or sacks of<br />
galls, according to the Invoice for the sae being the other of the<br />
Invoices annexed, containeth of neate Turkish weight tenn thousand<br />
two hundred and fourtie one Rotolos, referring himselfe to the said<br />
bills and Invoices, soe that the said foure hundred and seaventie<br />
baggs of galls mentioned in the said two bills of lading containeth<br />
thirtie thousand three hundred and ninetie Rotolo's, which hee knoweth<br />
having seene the said bills and Invoices and cast up<br />
the contents and amount thereof as aforesaid, And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose.
To the tenth article hee saith that none of the<br />
Cotton woolls or galls arlate were delivered by the said George<br />
hughes or his appointment to Alderman ffrederick, henry<br />
Chewne and other the parties producent at this port of<br />
London, for hee saith if they had, hee this deponent (living with the<br />
said Alderman ffrederick) must needs have knowne of it, but<br />
saith that according to the advises received by the said Alderman<br />
from his factors at Ligorne, all that were delivered were delivered<br />
at Ligorne or Porta fferrara to George [?Norleigh] the said<br />
producents factor or to some by him appointed, and (as the said<br />
[?Norleigh] alsoe advised,) there were noe more or other delivered then<br />
what the said George [?Norleigh]) he gave a receipt for, which advises<br />
this deponent hath seene living with the said Alderman, and<br />
being his Cash-keeper and accustomed to sea (sic) and peruse the<br />
advises that came to him from his factors abroad, and his booke of entries<br />
of letters sent outwards. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the eighteenth article and schedle therein mentioned nowe showne<br />
unto him, (beginning and ending as is arlate) being the second schedule<br />
hee saith and deposeth that the said schedule was sent and came<br />
to the said Alderman from the said [?Norleigh] and company as and<br />
for a true copie of the originall receipt given by the said [?Norleigh]<br />
for all the goods delivered unto him for accompt of the said Alderman<br />
ffrederick and others aforesaid, and was mentioned in the said<br />
[?Norleeyhs] letter (wherein the same came) to be a true copie, and<br />
hee beleeveth the contents of the said schedule<br />
to be true, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 20th article hee saith and deposeth according to advises<br />
received from legorne, the said hughes kept the goods in question in<br />
his hands severall monethes, after they were loaded, and would not<br />
deliver them according to his freighters order, but endeavoured to<br />
leave them in [?XXXXX] hands and to take up [?XXXXX] upon them<br />
by way of [?pawning] them; and that the said [?Norleigh] wasa faine as [?factor] aforesaid<br />
to sue him to get them out of his hands, and expended 120 ''li'' sterling<br />
or upwards thereabouts. And saith that the third schedule annexed<br />
beginning and ending as is arlate nowe showne unto him, is the note sent<br />
over hether by way of accompt of the said expenses, and hee beleeveth<br />
the contents thereof to be true. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
