rule of Arithmatike for casting up the supernumerarie dayes and the<br />

To the sixth hees aith that during such time as the said shipp did abide<br />
and remaine at ffyall aforesaid, the factors of the said Samuel<br />
Andrewes (for his accompt) did lade and put onboard her the<br />
number of 125 tonnes of wines and noe more, at two ffiall caskes<br />
to the tonne, and the master and this deponent and other of the said shipps<br />
company diverse and sundry times spake of having more wines laden<br />
and the said master moved the said factors to lade more wines, and<br />
tould them that hee could and would take into his said shipp twenty<br />
six tonnes and a halfe more of wine over and above the five<br />
tonnes arlate (allowed to the master) and her tackle furniture and<br />
apparell: And in truth the said shipp could and might have carried<br />
soe much, but the said factors answere that they had not more wines<br />
there readie to lade, or to that effect, which hee deposeth, being present<br />
and hearing and seeing the premisses, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the seaventh hee saith that after the discharge of the said shipp at<br />
ffiall, her master and company sailed her for Boston in New England<br />
and there safely arived with her, and there all the said wines soe<br />
laden as aforesaid were delivered out to the factors of the said Mr<br />
Andrewes; and that thence the said shipp by his factors order departed and<br />
sett saile for Virginia where shee safely arived on or about<br />
the seaventh day of Aprill 1655, and there remained and abade<br />
[?in] delivering out and taking in of lading upon the account of the<br />
said Samuel Andrewes untill the twelveth of June last, upon which<br />
day (and not before) the last of her lading was put aboard her at<br />
Virginia by the factors of the said Samuel Andrewes, the time<br />
of which stay and remaining at Virginia hee saith were 66 dayes<br />
all which hee knoweth being masters mate and going the said<br />
voyage in the said shipp, and taking notice in writing in his journall<br />
of the times and particulars aforesaid, And otherwise referring<br />
himselfe to the Charter partie hee cannot depose.
To the eighth article hee saith and deposeth that after such time as<br />
the said shipp the ''Edward'' was dischardged and dispatched at<br />
Virginia, shee sett saile and departed for London and here safely<br />
arived, and delivered out to the said Samuel Andrewes or his agents<br />
all such goods and merchandizes as were taken in at Virginia from<br />
his factors, and the said shipp was here dischardged from the same the<br />
23th of August last, which hee deposeth of his owne sight and knowledge<br />
being mate as aforesayd.
