or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the first article hee saith and deposeth that hee well knoweth the<br />
producent Richard Pistus and soe hath donne for theise sixe yeares last<br />
or thereabouts, during the which space this deponent hath had acquaintance<br />
and conversation with him in Spaine, and for three yeares last of that time<br />
hee the said Pistus lived in Cadiz the place of this deponents residence<br />
till lately that hee came thence; and saith the said<br />
Richard was and is an Englishman and for such commonly accompted and<br />
reputed, and a subiect of this Commonwealth, and being soe an<br />
Englishman, hee hath as this deponent hath bin informed suffered in<br />
the late Sequestration made upon the English in Spaine, this deponent<br />
comming thence a little before the said sequestration. And otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose.

To the first hee saith the said Richard Pistus is in his this deponents estimation<br />

mother, nor knoweth where hee was borne in England, but well knoweth<br />
his brother an Englishman, late supra cargo of a shipp of England<br />
named the ''Princesse'', lately seized in Malaga Roade by the Spaniards.<br />
And saith the said Richard Pistus is a batchelour, and otherwise cannot<br />
depose, saving hee beleeveth the said Richard is still at Cadiz and under<br />
restraint there as an Englishman.
To the second hee saith hee last sawe the said Richard at Cadiz on the<br />
12th of June last newe stile, being the day of this deponents comming thence,<br />
