said shipp the ''Thirstie hare'', and otherwise hee cannot depose, saving as<br />
aforesaid, not being in the voyage.
To the 20th hee saith the said Jeronimo Nunez de Costa is a Jew<br />
by Religion, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
To the 21th hee cannot answer.
To the 22th hee cannot depose.
To the last hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and cannot<br />

Mariner, master of the said shipp the ''Thirstie hart'' aged<br />
40 yeeres or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the fifth and sixth articles of the said allegation and the bills of lading<br />
exhibited and therein mentioned and nowe showne unto him hee saith and<br />
deposeth that upon the lading of the severall goods and merchandizes allegate<br />
on board the said shipp the ''Thirstie hart'' hee this deponent in the moneth<br />
of June last past in Lisbone arlate did signe and firme three severall<br />
bills of lading all of one tenor for every severall parcell of the said goods<br />
videlicet three bills of lading all of one tenor for the thirtie chests of sugar<br />
arlate marked with the first in the margent of the said 5th article of the<br />
said allegation, three bills, all of one tenor for the seaven chests, marked with the<br />
second marke in the margent of the said article, and three bills all of<br />
one tenor for the five chests of sugar marked with the third marke in the<br />
said margin, and three bills of lading all of one tenor for the sixteene<br />
chests of sugar marked with the fourth marke in the said margent, and<br />
three bills all of one tenor for the foure chests of sugar marked with the<br />
fifth marke in the said margin, being mentioned in the said bills of<br />
lading to be laden for the accompt of the said Jeronimo Nunez da Costa<br />
and for all the other severall parcells and quantities of goods and sugars under<br />
the severall markes arlate mentioned to be laden for the severall claimers therein<br />
specified, hee firmed or signed three bills of lading all of one tenor as<br />
in the said article is declared; and saith that hee (as hee beleeveth) brought one of each<br />
of the said bills alonge with him in the said shipp, namely fourteene in<br />
number from Lisbone, which hee beleeveth were aboard the said shipp at the time of<br />
her seizure by the ''Preston frigot'', and afterwards came to the hands of the<br />
Prize officers at Portsmouth, whence hee beleeveth they are come to this Court,<br />
and saith that hee this deponent nor any other under him did not signe any<br />
other bill or bills of lading for any the said goods that hee hath before deposed of<br />
