To the first hee saith hee is a native of Sommersetshire, and hath lived here<br />
in London about fourteene yeares, and is a marchant of this citie, And<br />
otherwise negatively.
To the 2. 3. 4. 5. 7 and 7 hee saith hee cannot answer thereto, this deponent<br />
neither being in the voyage nor acquainted with the parties interrogated<br />
nor privie to the lading in question otherwise then as aforesaid, referring<br />
himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the 8 and 9 hee referreth himselfe to the said policie of Assurance<br />
and to his foregoeing deposition, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the tenth hee cannot depose, saving asa aforesaid.
To the last hee answereth that hee doth not knowe any one named<br />

To the 4th article of the said Allegation, and the schedule therein mentioned<br />
nowe shewed unto him, hee saith and deposeth that in the moneth of May<br />
last past, the articulate Mr John Tivell, Merchant, of this citie caused<br />
and procured the summe of 2000. ''li'' sterling to be assured upon a parcell of<br />
Linnen, namely seaven and fortie bales, laden aboard the shipp the<br />
''hare in the ffeild'', of Middleborough, (John kein Master) in the Assurance<br />
Office London, from haver de Grace in ffrance to Cadiz, and Saint<br />
Lucar, and any parts or places thereabouts, which hee knoweth because<br />
hee this deponent was and is of the said Assurers thereof and hath for<br />
one hundred pounds of the said moneys subscribed the Pollicie of Assurance<br />
in that behalfe made and passed, and was privy to the subscription of<br />

and shewed him a letter purporting that the said goods were laden<br />
for the accompt of Mr Gouldsmith of Antwerpe and as hee remembreth<br />
other freinds of hamborowe and saith that the said Assurance<br />
