Mariner Carpenter of the shipp the ''Wildeman'' aged<br />
twenty three yeares or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and<br />
examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the first hee saith the arlate shipp the ''Wildeman'' in her course from<br />
ffrance to this Port of London coming neere dover tooke in an able<br />
pilott there to convoy her to this port who brought her up the River of<br />
Thames and brought her about tenn a clocke at night on the [?fowerth]<br />
day of November last past safe to an Anchor neere Greenwich in a<br />
convenient place where shipps frequently ride at Anchor this hee knoweth<br />
being Carpenter on board the sayd shipp the tyme predeposed And<br />
further hee cannot depose./
To the second hee saith that at such tyme and place as the sayd shipp<br />
the ''Wildeman'' came there to an Anchor there was noe boye floating<br />
to give notice of any things lyeing thereabouts or any wherrie<br />
lying there or person to give notice of any thinge lying neere there nor<br />
that did call out to the Master and Company of the sayd shipp not to<br />
lett fall his Anchor there or to wish him to take the same<br />
up againe the same being there lett fall, the premisses hee deposeth<br />
for that hee was Carpenter on board the sayd shipp and upon decks at<br />
such tyme as the sayd Anchor was lett fall and looked rounde about<br />
and must thereby of necessety have taken<br />
notice of such boy or wherrie or persons who had called out to forbidd<br />
letting fall the sayd Anchor if any such there had bin or any body had<br />
soe called out And further hee cannot depose./
