eight yeares last past, Native of<br />
Saint Lucar in Spayne, aged about 28 yeares, a wittnes produced and sworne<br />
and examined deposeth as followeth.
To the first article of the sayd allegation he deposeth and<br />
saith That he this deponent hath knowne and bin well acquainted<br />
with the arlate Melchior Aranguren the producent for<br />
fower yeares last past, for which space of time the said<br />
Melchior hath resided here in England, And that bu the<br />
reasom pf the intimacy and familiarity between him the deposnent<br />
and the producent he doth very well know that the articulate<br />
Bertram de Baud and Mathew de La ffitt have lived<br />
and are the factors, Agents and Correspondents of the<br />
arlate Aranguren the producent, The premisses he<br />
deposeth for that he the deponent hath had communicated unto<br />
him by the producent Letters frequently from time to time<br />
(during the time of their acquaintance, which hath bin for<br />
fower yeares last past) which he the said producent had received<br />
from then the said said de Baud and De la ffitt, and<br />
that he the deponent saw a Letter but yesterday sent from<br />
the said de La ffitt to the producent (which Letter came by this<br />
last Poast) concerning and touching the way of trading<br />
and Merchandizing between them he said producent and<br />
his aforementioned Agents or ffactors at Roane; And<br />
further to the sayd article he cannot depose.
To the second article, he deposeth and saith That by reason of the<br />
freindshipp between the deponent and the producent he the [?respondent]<br />
hath seene Letters written by the producent from Bartholomew<br />
Lopez de Apastris an Inhabitant and Merchant at Sevill<br />
in Spayne that he the sayd Lopez de Apastris had shipt<br />
for his the sayd de Arangurens account seaven hundred<br />
pound weight of redd wooll, and sent them to Roane in ffrance unto<br />
the arlate De Baud and De La ffitt for his account, and<br />
he alsoe deposeth that within the time articukated he the<br />
deponent hath seene Letters written from the said de Baud<br />
