a fortnight (to his best remembrance) before the<br />
newes came that the interrate shipp the ''hare in the feild''<br />
was seizd by the shipps of this Commonwealth And<br />
further he cannot answeare./
To the tenth Interrogatory he answereth that he doth not know<br />
nor ever heard or understood any thing to the contrary<br />
wherby he showld not beleive in his conscience that the<br />
Linnens interrate are the proper and onely goods of<br />
Bartholomew de Apatris, and not of<br />
any fenchman or subiect to the french king And<br />
further he cannot answeare./
To the eleaventh Interrogatory he answereth that by the advice<br />
unto him the Rendent communicated by the aforenamed<br />
Arang[?uren] above twelvemoneth since that the interrate<br />
Lopez de Apatris had sent unto them the interrate<br />
Bertrand Baud and Mathew de La ffitt 800 weight<br />
of Redd wooll, and by orther following advices imparted<br />
unto this Rendent by the sayd Arang[?uren, he did well<br />
know that they the said de Baud and de La ffitt had goods<br />
and effects of his the said Lopez de Apatris in their hands<br />
to a good value, And further he cannot answeare./
To the twelth Interrogatory he answereth that he doth not know<br />
nor ever heard of any Insuranace made upon the Linnens<br />
interrate And further he cannot answeare./
To the thirteenth Interrogatory he answereth that he never saw the<br />
Linnens interrate, and therfor knoweth no,<br />
what Country=growth or manufacture they bee./
To the fourteenth Interrogatory he answereth that the Letter of<br />
advice communicated unto him this Rendent by the said<br />
Arang[?uren] concerning his the sayd Lopez de Apatris<br />
sending unto the sayd de Baud and de La fitte the woolls<br />
aforementioned, did mention in what shipp they were<br />
laden, and from what Port she came (which as he beleiveth<br />
was Cadiz) and alsoe the Masters name of the shipp<br />
but he saith he doth not now certainely remember the name of either<br />
shipp, Master or Port, And otherwise he saith he<br />
knoweth not to answeare./
To the fifteenth Interrogatory he answereth that he never saw<br />
the Letters of Advice interrate but in the hands of the<br />
said Aranga[?ren] who did impart and communicate them<br />
aswell to this Rendent as to Mr Nicholas [?Blagne]<br />
And further he cannot answeare./
To the sixteenth Interrogatory he answereth that he never saw<br />
the bales of Linnen interrate But he saith that the<br />
Accompt of him predeposed of conteyneth and declareth the<br />
values and prices of every bale, and their qualityes, and<br />
how much evert bale conteyned, and he answereth<br />
by vertue of his oath that he never heard of any thing<br />
made up or conteyned in the said bales saving Linnen<br />
And further he cannot answeare.
