That he knoweth the interrate shipp the ''ffortune'' for<br />
that he was one of the shipps Company in the voyage<br />
interrate That Peter Sibrands the Master of her is<br />
of Eucheusen, that the said shipp and John Claeson<br />
Longedike the Owner of the said shipp (and besides whome<br />
he hath heard of noe other Owner of her) ar of Amsterdam<br />
That he was one of the sayd shipps Company when she<br />
sett sayle from Eucheusen upon her voyage in question<br />
which is now (to the best of his remembrance) about tenn<br />
months since, that she was bound directly for the Wild Coast in<br />
the West Indies, and that her outward lading were<br />
hatchetts, axes, bills, addzes, =Jewes=trumps, [?fflaites] and<br />
such like things, and about eleaven Lasts of salt<br />
And further to the said Interrogatory he knoweth not to<br />
answeare./
To the second Interrogatory he answereth and deposth that<br />
the interrate shipp did not of his certaine knowledge<br />
come to, or trade ro or with any English Plantations<br />
in the West Indies in the voyage interrate, The which<br />
he very well knoweth because he was aboard all the while<br />
she was in the voyage interrate in the West Indies<br />
And further he knoweth not to answeare./
To the third Interrogatory he deposeth and answereth that the<br />
interrate shipp the ''ffortune'' was about a mile and an<br />
halfe (dutch account) to the Leeward of the Barbathoes<br />
seized and taken with her Lading upon a Saturday (which as<br />
he taketh was the sixteenth day of May (new stile)<br />
last past by Captaine [?ffeild] Commander of a<br />
Merchants shipp built ffrigatt=wise that he Lading<br />
aboard her at the time of her seizure were about fowre<br />
hundred Sea Cowes, fower peeces of strong water and<br />
some of the outward Lading, which she carryed from<br />
Eucheusen (which were for the account as he verily beeiveth<br />
of the daid Longedicke) And he answereth that the interrate<br />
shipp the ''ffortune'' was with her Lading after her seizure<br />
by the said Captaine Passfeild carried into the<br />
Barbathoes, after that the Master of her and the said<br />
shipps Company had been kept aboard the said shipp<br />
for about a months space, and he saith that the said<br />
Captaine Passfeild did soone after the seizure take the sayles<br />
from the yards of the shipp interrate And further he<br />
cannot answeare
To the fourth Interrogatory he answereth that the Master if the said shipp<br />
the ''ffortune'' was at the time of her seizure aboard her, and<br />
that the said Master and the said shipps Company were<br />
by the said Passfeild carryed into the Barbathoes where<br />
thos Rendent left him, And further he cannot answeare<br />
