Derrickson personally, but by lettres whic … Derrickson personally, but by lettres which hee hath seene directed to the<br />
said factor at Lisbone by the said producents, and by frequent conversation<br />
and discousrse with the said factor hath constantly understood that<br />
they the said Manuel and Francis Derrickson were and are<br />
Burghers of Hamburgh and inhasbitatns and subjects of that place.<br />
And further cannot depose.
To the 8th hee saith his foregoing Deposition is true
To the Cross Interrogaties [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first interrogatie hee answereth that hee is a Native of<br />
Lisbone and hath had his settled aboade there ever since his birth<br />
And otherwise negatively to every part thereof.
To the 2nd hee referreth himself to his foregoing deposition
To the 3rd hee saith hee did not see the sugars interrate bough or<br />
payd for And otherwise cannot depose.
To the 4th hee saith hee never saw the persons interrate neither at<br />
Lisbone nor elsewhere soe farr as hee knoweth.
To the 5th hee saith hee this corespondent was not present at the<br />
signing of the bills of lading interrate.
To the 6th heen saith hee well knoweth the interrate Antonio<br />
Rodrigues de Morais a Merchant and factor living at Roane<br />
as aforesaid and being in noe subjection to or service to any frenchman<br />
but acting freely for his owne and his forraigne Correspondents interests.
To the 7th hee knoweth not to whom the sugars interrate were consigned.
To the 8th hee saith hee doth not know neither doth hee in Conscience<br />
believe that the sugars interrate were for the accompt of any<br />
frenchman or frenchmen subject of subjects of the french King.
To the 9th hee saith hee knoweth not of any such ensurance as ?the[GUTTER]<br />
interrate.
To the 10th and 11th negatively And otherwise cannot depose./
