Examined upon the foresaid allegation.

aged 54 yeares or thereabouts sworne and<br />
examined.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that<br />
hee hath well knowne the producent doctor ffrancisco Benzi by literall correspondance about seaven<br />
yeares last past, and saith that before the monethes of July and August<br />
1652 the said francisco Benzi wrote unto this deponent from Venice intimating<br />
unto him that hee the said doctor Benzi was owner and proprietor of seaventeene two and<br />
thirtieth parts of the shipp the ''Prince'' of which Claus Timeson was master<br />
and of one third part of the shipp the ''Grimani'' otherwise called<br />
the ''armes of Madenblick'' of which John hannenson Leiwen was<br />
master, and that hee was desirous to part with and sell the same<br />
and therefore desired this deponent (being his correspondent) to<br />
help him to a Chapman for them, or to the same effect, And<br />
saith that for and as lawfull owner and proprietor of the said parts<br />
of the said shipps the said docter ffrancisco Benzi was and is<br />
commonly accompted and reputed. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the second article hee cannot depose, saving what followeth.
To the third article hee saith and deposeth that hee alsoe well<br />
knoweth the arlate John Baptista Benzi and hath soe donne theise<br />
fowre and twentie yeares last and hath bin and is bery well acquainted<br />
with hjim, and saith that hee and the said doctor francisco Benzi<br />
were and are brothers, and natives of Como in Lumbardie and<br />
for such commonly accompted and reputed, and this deponent<br />
there lnoweth their house and familie and hath bin there<br />
acquainted with the said John Baptista, And saith the said John Baptista<br />
Benzi was resident a Amsterdam only as a merchant stranger<br />
and that about two yeares since upon the troubles betwixt this<br />
Nation and holland, the said John Baptista Benzi retired<br />
and with drew his dwelling to his native country and now<br />
Inhabiteth at Venice And otherwise hee cannot depose./.
To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee answereth negatively.
To the second hee saith that the place of the ordinarie residence of the said<br />
doctor ffrancisco Benzi is at Venice where hee deales as a Merchant, and<br />
often hee goes to Como in Lumbardia his native towne and there acts as<br />
an Advocate as this deponent hath bin credibly informed, And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid.
To the third fourth fifth and sixth hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing<br />
deposition, and otherwise cannot answer, for hee neither knoweth the said shipp<br />
or the masters thereof

To the Interrogatories in the second place hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid, and saving<br />
