of the shipp the ''Anne Pinke'' of Bristoll}<br />
touching the losse of the said shipp}
Examined on certaine Interrogatories<br />
ministred on the behalfe of the said<br />
hugh Jones.

Cripplegate London Mariner, aged 28 yeares or<br />
thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the first Interrogatorie hee answereth and deposeth that hee was<br />
one of the company of the said shipp the ''Anne Pinke'' at the time of<br />
her losse hereafter mentioned and had soe bin for the space of sixteene<br />
dayes or thereabouts before such her losse, and that hee was one of her<br />
common men, and came first aboard her and was shipt in her at Lisbone<br />
to goe thence in her to Pharo and thence to Bristoll, for which service<br />
hee was hired by the said hugh Jones her master, And otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose.
To the second Interrogatorie hee saith that the said shipps owners were<br />
and are commonly said to be Inhabitants of Bristoll, Englishmen,<br />
and saith that the said hugh Jones the Master was an wighth part<br />
owner of her when shee was soe lost, and that shee was of the<br />
burthen of eightie tonnes or thereabouts, and had aboard her at the<br />
time of her casting away a greate quantitie of caskes, which shee tooke<br />
in at Lisbone to goe to Pharo to lade oile for Bristoll. And saith<br />
shee departed from Lisbone for Pharo on the fifteenth of January<br />
last or thereabouts, and in her course of proceeding was surprized with<br />
a furious storme which put her by her said port of Pharo<br />
and found her upon the coast of Spaine betwixt Cales and Saint Lucars,<br />
where shee was by the violence of the said storme put ashore and<br />
cast away and bilged to peeces and lost, of this deponents sight<br />
and knowledge, being one of her company and then aboard her, and this<br />
hee saith happened on or about the foure and twentieth of January last<br />
And saith the said caskes were aboard her when shee was soe cast<br />
away, together with about six hundred of clap board and twenty three<br />
Rolles of Brasil tobaccoe, all which caskes, clapboard and tobaccoes were as hee hath heard saved, but the shipp perished<br />
of his knowledge And otherwise hee cannot depose for hee came first aboard the said shipp<br />
at Lisbone as aforesaid.
To the third hee saith the said shipp the ''Anne Pinke'' was staunch, tight<br />
and stronge to the said time of her casting away, which happened<br />
meerly by occasion of the said storme and stresse of weather, (which<br />
continued three dayes and nights without intermission) and not by<br />
any the least insufficiencie or leakinesse of or in the said shipp. And<br />
saith the said goods soe saved were as hee hath heard by the said master delivered and<br />
put into the hands of the English Consull at Saint Lucars, who<br />
tooke them into his possession. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
