that hee well knoweth the producent Thomas … that hee well knoweth the producent Thomas Jansen and hath soe donne<br />
for theise fourteene or fifteene yeares last, and saith that the said Thomas<br />
Johnsen was and is a dane by birth, and for such commonly accompted<br />
borne on Rincopen in Jutland in the dominion of the kinge of denmarke<br />
or which towne his father was lately living and was an Inhabitant and<br />
Burgomaster of that towne, which hee this deponent knoweth having there<br />
bin in the house of his said father, and the said Thomas this producent<br />
hath many times bin and laine in the house of this deponents father<br />
in Renderhusen in Jutland aforesaid, and saith the said Thomas Johnsen<br />
being a batchelour hath used to voyage and travell up and downe<br />
from one countrey to another about merchandizing lately for severall<br />
yeares, but his home and dwelling hath alwaies bin and is at Rincopen<br />
aforeaid, which hee knoweth having somtimes travailed with him. And<br />
saith the said producent fir all the said time of this deponents knowledge<br />
of him hath bin and is a subiect of the kinge of denmarke and for<br />
sucn commonly accompted, and not a subiect of the States of the<br />
United Netherlands. And this deponent hath seane the said producent<br />
in Amsterdam about two yeares since, and was there in his company<br />
and conversant with him, and well knoweth that hee only came<br />
thither as a merchant stranger from denmarke and bought salt<br />
to transport to Jutland, and during such time as then hee staid at<br />
Amsterdam hee lodged as a stranger in a victualling house in the<br />
[?Oing?bt], and then told this deponent that hee lay there at<br />
eight gilders per weeke chardges. And otherwise hee cannot depose.<br />
Upon the rest hee is not examined by direction of the producent.

To the first and second hee saith that hee this deponent did not belonge<br />
to nor was in the shipp interrogated the voyage in question, nor when shee<br />
was seized, nor knoweth ought thereof. And otherwise hee referreth<br />
himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the third, fourth and fifth hee saith hee cannot depose<br />
not knowing ought of the goods or voyage in question.
To the 6th hee saith hee knoweth two men both named and called ffrancisco<br />
Adrianson and living in Amsterdam, and hee taketh one of them to be<br />
a batchelour and otherwise hee saith hee cannot depose./
To the 7th, 8th and 9th hee cannot depose.
To the 10th negatively.
To the 11th hee hath not soe deposed.
To the 12th and 13th hee cannot depose.
