Yeoman, aged 40 yeares or thereabouts sworne and<br />
examined.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that in the<br />
yeare 1654 (as hee remembreth the time) The Commissioners for<br />
Prize goods, having sold a parcell of sweete oiles, taken as prize<br />
in the shipp the ''Greate Saint Marke'', this deponent being one of the<br />
keepers of the Warehouse and sellar wherein they were put, made delivery<br />
and helped to deliver the same (to the quantitie of betwixt twenty and thirtie tonnes or thereabouts<br />
to Mr Baker and Mr howlet, and saith the same weere soe deliveres to thm<br />
at and after the gage and quantitie of 236 gallons to the tonne and not more<br />
and soe by them received, And saith that 236 gallons of sweete oiles<br />
to the tonne was the usuall gage of sweete oiles sold by the said Commissioners<br />
for the sale of prize goods, which hee knoweth being imploied in<br />
warehouse keeping under them, and well acquainted therewith, And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose.
