To the third Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that at the time of<br />
the said seizure this deponents company of his said shipp consisted of<br />
thirtie persons, besides himselfe, whereof foure were boyes and the<br />
rest men, and that they were all aboard at the time of the said seizure<br />
together with three passengers, and saith that five of the said men<br />
of his company came first aboard and were hired<br />
at haver da Grace, to of which five men are ffrench, and saving<br />
those two (whom hee taketh to be subiects of the ffrench kinge) there<br />
are noe ffrench of his companie, either men or boyes.
To the fourth Interrogatorie hee saith that saving the said chest of<br />
pictures and three small bales of pepper and some other goods belonging<br />
to him and shipps companie, (the particulars whereof hee remembreth not)<br />
brought as aforesaid from Middleborough, all the goods and lading of merchandize<br />
that were seized in the said shipp, were received aboard her at haver<br />
da Grace, and came from Roane in hoyes<br />
saving two or three peeces that were laden at and from haver<br />
da Grace, but in howe many hoyes they came from Roane hee saith hee<br />
remembreth not, and the said goods and lading soe brought from<br />
Roane were laden and put aboard the said shipp at haver da Grace,<br />
but of what growth or manufacture the said goods are, hee saith hee<br />
knoweth bot. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fifth hee saith hee hath not as yet received any part of his freight<br />
payable for the goods that were laden in the said shipp, or for any part<br />
of them; but was to receive his freight at Cadiz of the persons to<br />
whom the goods should be delivered, and that produced the bills of<br />
lading for the same, And saith there was not any Charter partie<br />
of affreightmen, made for the said voyage, but the freight was sett<br />
downe in the severall bills of lading.
To teh sixth hee saith that till about a yeare since the said shipp had some<br />
owners tha lived at Tervier in Zealand and the rest at Middleborowe<br />
and that not well agreeing about the imployment of the said shipp, they of<br />
Tervier sold their parts to Middleburgers about a yeare since, at which<br />
buying and selling being soe donne at Middleborough before a Notarie<br />
as the manner there is, and that hee did not see any money paid downe<br />
the payment being made upon accompt of freight which<br />
the Booke keeper for the shipp (who lived at Tervier) was to<br />
make to the said persons of Tervier who sold their parts, the said<br />
shipp shortly before comming home from a voyage from the West Indies<br />
And saith the persons of Tervier that soe sold their parts were [?Clements]<br />
hubrechtson and John Kein, and that<br />
david de Vischer of Middleborowe bought the said parts<br />
of them of Tervier and then tooke in other part owners of Middleborowe<br />
to him.
To the seaventh hee saith hee is a house keeper in Middleborowe and<br />
