Creechurch London Gentleman aged 22 yeares or<br />
thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the sixth article of the said libell upon which alone hee is by<br />
direction of the producent examined, hee saith and deposeth<br />
that in or about July in the yeare 1653 the producents Thomas<br />
Andrewes and Richard Clutterbuck having bought a parcell of<br />
pepper of the East India company, had the same delivered unto them<br />
from the Exchange Sellar London, which hee knoweth being<br />
then servant to Mr Swinglehurst secretary of the East India company.<br />
and saith hee findeth by the bookes of the said company, that the said<br />
parcell amounted to 10088 ''lb'' neat (of pepper) and was contained<br />
in thirtie baggs, And saith the said producents being to<br />
transport the same, and to have entry thereof made in the Customehouse<br />
London, this deponents said master on the behalfe of the said Company went to<br />
the Customehouse, to make<br />
entrie of the said parcell, but for the name of the shipp wherewith the<br />
said pepper was to be transported, or of the master of the said shipp<br />
