departed for Amsterdam in the company of two other shipps, and in<br />
their course, on or about the 28th of October 1654 the said shipp was<br />
by storme separated from the other two and lost their company, and<br />
the said stormie and fowle weather continueing with darkenesse, shee<br />
mistooke her course and ran into Saint Georges Channelll, And there<br />
here provisions and victualls being spent and rigging torne and wasted<br />
through the said ill weather, the said master and company perceiving<br />
where they were, put with her for Bristoll, there intending to<br />
supplie her and themselves with necessaries (and for noe other end<br />
at all) and soe to depart and prosecute their voyage for Amsterdam,<br />
not having any purpose or thought to trade at Bristoll, and soe<br />
much her said master constantly affirmed, the premisses hee deposeth<br />
and knoweth being her stiersman and seeing the same<br />
soe donne, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 15th hee saith that the said shipp and her lading were<br />
in fact but unduely seized in kingsroade neare Bristoll<br />
by one Mr Gill on or about the say arlate, and the said Claes<br />
Tuneson the master and his company put out and dispossessed of<br />
her. And other wise hee cannot depose.
To the 16 hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie of this Court<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 17th hee saith that after and upon the said seizure the<br />
said master Claes ffrederickson with the arlate Peter Reyerson<br />
John de ffeborne and this deponent (all of the company of<br />
the said shipp) came for London, and were here all examined,<br />
touching the said shipp and lading, and the said Claes Tuneson<br />
continued in and about London till the last of January last or thereabouts<br />
(expecting the said shipps clearing) and then dyed at or neere Wapping in<br />
the house of Mr John Holden, and was buried in a Chappell<br />
yard neere adioyning, which hee knoweth staying here with him till<br />
his death, and being present at his<br />
funnerall, And otherwise hee cannot depose, referring himselfe<br />
to the Registrie of this Court for the time of their examination
To the 18th hee saith that after such their examination<br />
the said John [?lossebure] staid here about elaven weekes, and this<br />
deponent about nine weekes, and then departed for their home<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 19th hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie of this Court<br />
and otherwise cannot depose.
To the 20th hee cannot depose.
To the 21th hee saith that all the said lading that was on<br />
the said shipp at the time of her seizure (saving the ginger [?arlate]<br />
was commonly and from time to time both by the master and company<br />
of the said shipp and others affirmed to belonge to the duke of<br />
Cureland arlate (and hee verily beleeveth the same to be true)<br />
and the said Ginger to the arlate Peter Johnson [?XXX]<br />
and Inhabitant and subiect of Amsterdam, And otherwise saving<br />
as aforesaid hee cannot depose.
