To the tenth hee saith that about a weeke … To the tenth hee saith that about a weeke since that this deponent<br />
arived here from Amsterdam, hee sawe the said shipp the ''Saint Mary'' that was<br />
soe sett out from Amsterdam as aforesaid by the said Coymans, and was<br />
seized as aforesaid and caried to Plimouth, lying here in the River of<br />
Thames, and went aboard her, and well knew her to be the same<br />
And otherwise saving as aforesaid hee cannot depose.
To the eleaventh hee saith that the said Balthazar and Jan Coymans<br />
were and are merchants and Inhabitants of Amsterdam, and keepe [?hoyes]<br />
and families there, and were and are subiects of the States of the<br />
United Netherlands, and for such commonly accompted. And otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose.
To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith hee was borne at Genua and hath lived about<br />
three yeares in holland, and before for seaven yeares in Savoy, and at<br />
Tholon and Marseilla, and other places thereabouts, and saith hee<br />
hath belonged to the said shipp ''Saint Mary'' about 16 monethes last, and<br />
otherwise negatively, saving as aforesaid, referring himselfe to his<br />
foregoeing deposition.
To the second hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition, and cannot<br />
otherwise depose.
To the third hee saith hee hath knowne the said shipp the ''Saint Mary da''<br />
''Guarda lupa'' about 16 monethes last, but where or by whom shee<br />
was built hee knoweth not, nor was hee this rendent a witnesse<br />
to any bill or sale made of her. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fourth hee saith hee did not see any money paid for the<br />
said shipp, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
To the fifth hee saith the said goods predeposed to be ladenn at the<br />
Canaries for the said Coymans, were soe laden by don John de la kinte<br />
and other their factors there, but this deponent did not see any money<br />
paid for the same. And otherwise hee cannot answer.
To the 6th hee saith the said John de la Kint otherwise John Kint<br />
is commonly reputed a hollander, and the other factors are alsoe accompted<br />
hollanders. And otherwise hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid.
To the 7th hee saith the said Balthazar and John Coymans sent out<br />
in the said shipp from Amsterdam to the Canaries linnen cloth,<br />
dimities, pipestaves, and striped stuffs, which hee knoweth because hee<br />
sawe them laden, but this deponent did not see them in their<br />
houses or warehouses before the lading, And otherwise hee cannot<br />
depose saving as aforesaid.
To the 8th hee saith that hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid.
To the 9th negatively.
To the 10th hee saith hee doth not knowe that the said shipp doth<br />
belonge wholly or in part to the said Coymans, but hee beleeveth<br />
shee belongeth to them wholly. And otherwise hee cannot answer<br />
saving as aforesaid.
To the 11th hee saith the said Collard tooke the ''Saint Mary'' first as<br />
aforesaid on or about the 29th of July last nere [?stole], and<br />
that hee doth not remember the time precisely<br />
wherein shee was taken by the ''Saphire'', hee taketh that it was in<br />
September last.
