'''5)''' '''Thomas knight''' servant to William Crumpe<br /> the party in this cause, whose servant he hath bin<br /> these 10 monthes past, aged about sixteene yeares<br /> a wittnes sworne and examined he deposeth as<br /> followeth To the first article of the sayd allegation he saith That the<br /> arlate shipp the ''Stambaleene'' had goods aboard her at<br /> the time the casualty of fire happened in her to the valew<br /> of 20000 ''li'' (as he beleiveth) And further he cannot depose. To the fifth, sixth seaventh and eighth articles of the said<br /> allegation he deposeth and saith that at the time the fire<br /> burst out in the articulate shipp there were of all the sayd<br /> shipps Company on board her the arlate Peter [?Shartin]<br /> Philip Burt and Kohn Brett, and alsoe this deponent his<br /> precontest Samuel Samboe and Jeffrey Mosely and noe more and none of the<br /> sayd shipps Company that were gone on shoare did during the<br /> fire come aboard the said shipp, and that by the said fire<br /> the shipp and her rigging and goods to a great value were<br /> consumed and perished And further he cannot depose.
