To the 4th hee saith, That the said shipp at the time of the Chase interrate was<br />

predeposed and not by their owne boate or any of theire Companie, nor did any of the<br />
said shipps Companie call for help to defend her And otherwise negatively referring<br />

To the 5th negatively, saving his foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth./
To the 6th hee saith, the Pylott interrate, was, so farr as this deponent ever heard to<br />
have landed and staied at Pontrieux, if the said shipp ''Saint Peter'' and her lading<br />
had arrived, and saieth hee hath often seen and observed that Merchants or ffactors<br />
who lade shipps from port in ffrance, doe usually hire and provide<br />
experienced mariners for the secure conduct f their goods from place to place, especially<br />
upon the coast of Brettanie which in manie places is very rocky dangerous<br />
and insecure without a Pylot well experienced therein. And further otherwise<br />
then negatively hee cannot depose./
To the 7th hee saith, That the shott interrate being three, as is predeposed, were<br />
made whilest the ''Saint Peter'' lat fastned to the Rocks interrate. And further<br />
cannot depose./
To the 8th hee saith, That the said Pylott and frenchmen who came aboard<br />
made the shott predeposed in this deponents sight and observation./
To the 9th hee saith, That hee saw no resistance made against the said ffrench<br />
mens entrie into the said shipp, And that the Companie interrate did not<br />
assist the said ffrenchmen in any manner whatsoever to come aboard the<br />
said shipp, neither had they need of any such assistance./
To the 10th negatively:-
To the 11th hee saith, That during the fight interrate this endent and the<br />
Master and whole shipps Companie interrate were and are remained<br />
above the deck in the forepart of the said shipp ''Saint Peter'', and that<br />
this rendent in the presence and hearing of the rest of the said shipps<br />
Companie heard the said Master Command dissuade and entreate the<br />
said french Pylot and other ffrenchmen from shooting, sayeing [?shoote GUTTER]<br />
not, shoote not, for man and severall times togeather./
To the 12th hee saith hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition to the [?8th GUTTER]<br />
article of the allegation in this Cause, And further or otherwise hee cannot<br />
depose as to the particular valewes of the goods interrate or otherwise
