the true and lawfull Owners and proprietor … the true and lawfull Owners and proprietors of the arlate Shipp the ''Trooper''<br />
of Limbrick her tackle apparrell and furniture during all the tyme arlate, and hee this deponent was present and<br />
did see the sayd Edward Warr Ralphe Wilson William King and daniell Bowman<br />
pay parte of their money for their parts in teh sayd shipp her tackle apparrell and<br />
furniture but what part each of the had in her hee knoweth not certainely, but verily<br />
beleeveth they had every of them an eighth part thereof And further to this article<br />
hee cannot depose/
To the 2 and 3 articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that hee being a Merchant and<br />
living then at Limbricke in Ireland and being frequently conversant with the arlate<br />
Edward Warr Ralphe Wilson and other the Owners of the shipp the ''Trooper'' aforesayd<br />
well knoweth that the sayd Warr Wilson and Company did in or about the moneth<br />
of Aprill last past fit and prepare the sayd shipp to goe from Limbrick to England<br />
and thence to Saint Malloe in ffrance if trade might there bee had with freedome<br />
and did in pursuance of the sayd designe lade on board the saud shipp<br />
''Trooper'' severall goods and merchandizes for their owne proper Accompt as hides<br />
brasse tallowe and the like (which this deponent sawe laded on board the sayd shipp)<br />
and saith the saud Warr Wilson King Bowman and Company did constitute<br />
and appointe the arlate Ralphe Allartton Master of the sayd shipp for the<br />
sayd voyage, and did constitute the arlate John Burt supracargo or<br />
Cape Merchant and factor for the sayd voyage and ordered the sayd shipp (as<br />
the sayd Warr and Wilson told this deponent) to touch at ffalmouth in England<br />
and from thence to goe for Saint Mallowe in ffrance if it appeared to them at<br />
ffalmouth that they might safely trade thither And further hee cannot depose<br />
saving that the sayd Warr Wilson King Bowman and Company were commonly<br />
accompted the trie Owners and Proprietors of the sayd hides brasse tallowe and<br />
other Merchandizes laden aboard the sayd shipp ''Trooper'' at Limbrick as aforesayd<br />
before her goeing forth upon the sayd voyage./
To the 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th and 9th articles of the sayd allegation hee saith and deposeth That<br />
hee was not present on board the sayd shipp the ''Trooper'' during any parte of the voyage<br />
in qestion and therefore cannot of his owne certayne knowledge depose to the whole<br />
series and effect of the sayd articles but saith there was a common reporte in<br />
Limbrick that teh sayd shipp ''Trooper'' and her ladeing were about two dayes after<br />
her departure from thence taken at Sea by some Brest men of warr and from<br />
them rescued and retaken by the arlate Captaine Taylor and by him carried into<br />
Kingsale in Ireland where shee and her sayd ladeing taken in at Limbrick as aforesayd<br />
at least soe much as was left thereof unplundered by the sayd Brest man of warr<br />
and the Company of the sayd Captaine Taylor, were by the arlate Edward Warr<br />
(as hee told this deponent and as this deponent alsoe heard from the sayd Ralph Allarton the<br />
Master of the sayd shipp ''Trooper'' during the voyage in question) redeemed,by a discharhe<br />
by him promised from the Commissioners for prize hoods there that the sayd shipp<br />
''Trooper'' might proceede on her sayd voyage, and hee alsoe saith the sayd Master<br />
of the sayd shipp and alsoe the sayd Edward Warr told this deponent that the sayd Edward Warr haveing soe cleared the sayd shipp and<br />
ladeing at King sale, shee sett sale from thence with intente to prosecute her<br />
sayd voyage but was againe surprised by Brest men of warr and rescued<br />
againe from them by the arlate Captaine Vessey, who brought her and her ladeing<br />
into Corke in Ireland whether the arlate daniell Bowman upon notice<br />
sent to Limbrick of such her second being rescued and brought into Corkeecond being rescued and brought into Corke +
