part or interest in the sylver and money now claymed. and otherwise<br />

To the .10th. he saith that Christian Aelst by letters and Hjeronimo Brudgmans<br />
by word of mouth did acquaint this deponent att Cadiz that the sylver<br />
now claymed should be laden for their Accompt, and the sayd Jeronimo<br />
acquainted the masters of the shipps interrate with the same accordingly.
To the .11th. he saith that Hjeronymo Brudgmans received directions from Christian<br />
Aelst to procure and lade the sayd sylver, and this deponent receyved<br />
Command from his sayd master Heronimo to see the same laden for the<br />
Accompt of the producents.
To the .12.th he saith the sayd Hjeronimo had effects of linnen cloth and<br />
bone lace in his hands for the sayd Aelst and himselfe which came<br />
from Ostend in the yeare 1651. and further he cannot depose
To the 13. he saith his sayd master did tell this deponent that the sayd moneys<br />
and plate was for his owne and the sayd Aelsts accompt, and to be<br />
laden att their sole adventure.
To the .14. he saith he is a native of Bridges in fflanders liveth att Sevill<br />
and is a servant of the sayd Hjeronimo in the way of merchandize.<br />
and saith he hath noe manner of property or interest whatsoever in the<br />
sayd sylver and moneys, nor will the restitution thereof be any benefit<br />
or its confiscation any losse to him.
To the 15 and 16th he cannot depose.
To the 17th negatively.
Top the 18th he saith that Hjeronimo Brudgman<br />
caused insurance to be made upon three thousand peices of eight<br />
laden aboard the ''Salvador'' at Sevill. And the Insurers were and<br />
are Spaniards and fflemings all merchants of Sevill, but their<br />
names he remembreth not. and otherwise negatively.
To the 19. 20. and 21th he saith that he hath fully satisfyed in<br />
his foregoeing depositions. and further cannot depose.
To the 22th he saith the money and plate now claymed were laden under<br />
Command of the forts of Cadiz, and otherwise negatively.
To the 23. and 24th he saith that att the signing of the bills of lading interrate, the<br />
sayd masters delivered all the bills respectively to him this deponent And<br />
this deponent delivered back againe one of each tenor to them<br />
respectively, loose without cover aboard their respective shipps<br />
videlicet one for the twelve baggs of money to John Martinsdorp<br />
and two to Christian Cloppenberg, that is to say for the fifteene<br />
baggs of money one, and for the four bars of sylver one.
To the Interrogatories in the second place. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the 1 and 2d he saith that It is prohibited to transport sylver and<br />
moneyes out of Spaine, and the same is notorious as he beleiveth<br />
And saith that if money and sylver laden without license be<br />
seized in the ports of Spaine before transportation the same is<br />
usually confiscat unlesse the Owners compound for it. And further<br />
he cannot depose./
