To the seventh he saith he was borne att Vemar under the Jurisdiction of<br />
the duke of Holstein, and being a Bachelor sometymes liveth att Vemar<br />
and sometymes att Hamburgh. and saith that he is owner and proprietor<br />
of one of the sayd butts of sack laden for the acccompt of the Mariners of the<br />
shipp videlicet of the butt of sack marked '''C.L.''' as aforesayd, and hopes<br />
the sayd butt of sack will be restored to him by this Court. and otherwise<br />
negatively.

To the 1 and 2. he saith. that he hath heard that it is prohibited by the<br />
King of Spaine to transport sylver and moneyes out of the ports of<br />
Spaine unlesse a license be first obtained for the same. And saith<br />
he hath seene the Ministers of the sayd King strive and contend<br />
with the Barkemen who have brought sylver to lade upon shipes<br />
lyeing in the bay of Cadiz, who he beleiveth have caused all<br />
such sylver unlicensed as they have seized before thereof<br />
to be confiscated to the sayd Kings use. But saith he never saw any<br />
of the Kings Ministers visit the shipps in that behalfe neither doth<br />
he beleive that they have right or power so to doe nor that the<br />
Owners of such unlicensed sylver and moneyes loose their propriety in<br />
the sam except the same be seized in the Spanish Ports before they<br />
be laden. And further he cannot depose.
