To the first Interrogatorie negatively:-
To the second hee saith hee hath knowne the interrate John Smeesters 7 yeares<br />
and Gerrard Ryper by Correspondency 7. yeares or thereabouts, And otherwise<br />
cannot depose:-/

To the fourth hee saith the said Smeesters is an Antwerper borne, and hath<br />
lived there with his familie for 7. yeares last in the broad street, and the<br />
said Gerard Ryper is also an Antwerper and liveth in Cadiz where hee<br />
also hath dwelt for 7. yeares last or thereabouts, and is there married.

To the 13th hee saith the said John Smeesters of this deponents certaine<br />
knowledge did by a letter which this deponent Copied. give order to his said<br />
factor to send him silver in returne for his goods upon all good oportunitie<br />
of free shipps comeing from Cadiz. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the 14:th hee saith That the said ffactor had severall goods and eggects of the<br />
said producent in his hands with the proceed of part whereof hee beleeveth the<br />
monies in question were provided, And particularly this deponent saith That<br />
in the moneth of ffebruary 1652. the said producent sent from Ostend in<br />
fflanders by Peter Klinckaert Master of a shipp of Ostend, and upon the 2 of<br />
Aprill by John de Vos of Ostend, and upon the 27.th of July 1651. by<br />
Dirrick Haytman a Hamburger and upon the 27:th of October 1651 by<br />
Peter de Keysar of Ostend, and upon the 24.th of November 1651 by<br />
Joachim Cordes a Hamburger and upon the 26. of ffebruary 1652 by the said<br />
John de Vos of Ostend severall goods and Merchandizes videlicet Rissells<br />
stuffs, flanders linnen and laces to his said ffactors Gerard Riper and<br />
