To the 8th and 9th Interrogatories hee sai … To the 8th and 9th Interrogatories hee saith that the said money and plate<br />
now claimed was receaved on bord by the said Garrett Martens<br />
and his precontest Lucas Wrede by whom the same ws entred<br />
into severall bookes or papers under the markes and as laden for the<br />
accompt predeposed, with which said Bookes the bills of ladeing doe<br />
agree. And further cannot depose.
To the 10th and 11th saveing his foregoeing Deposition to which hee referreth<br />
hee answereth negatively.
To the 12th saving his foregoeing deposition hee answereth negatively
To the 13. 14 and 15th Interrogatories hee saith that upon the ladeing of the<br />
moneys and plate now claimed on bord the said shippe the said<br />
laders thereof did tell this deponent that the same was the proceede<br />
of severall goods which they had receaved from the said producent<br />
out of fflanders. And further saveing his foregoeing deposition<br />
hee saith hee cannot depose.
To the 16th hee saith that hee this Examinate is of [BLANK IN MANUSCRIPT]<br />
by birth and habitation and that hee hath noe share or interest<br />
at all in the money and plate now claimed nor any relation<br />
to the producent the Claimer thereof. And further cannot depose
To the 17th and 18th Interrogatories saving his foregoeing deposition hee saith<br />
hee cannot more fully depose.
To the 19 and 20th hee hath given full satisfaction hereunto<br />
in his foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth And further cannot<br />
depose.
To the 21th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition And<br />
otherwise cannot depose./
To the 22th hee saith that the money and plate now claymed<br />
to his best remembrance was laden on bord the sayd ship part at<br />
Midday=tyme and part in the evening towards night but whether<br />
when or without the Command of the ffortresse att Cadiz hee cannot<br />
now call to minde. And further cannot depose.
To the 23th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition And otherwise<br />
cannot depose.
To the 24. and 25th hee saith hee knoweth not the lawes of Spaine touching<br />
shipping of silver from thence, but saith that of his knowledge money<br />
Plate and Bullion hath bin and is usually laden and brought from<br />
Spania without any stay or lett provided the same bee not too<br />
publiquely carryed abord. And further cannot depose.
