Examined upon the sayd allegation
'''Gerrard Menschever''' of Stockhollom in Swethland<br />
Secretary to the Agent of the Queene of Sweden<br />
Resident here in England aged 36 yeares or<br />
thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined saith and<br />
deposeth by vertue of his oath as followeth videlicet.
To the first Article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that being att <br />
Stockhollom in the yeare 1644 in the which yeare and for some tyme<br />
after there was open warr and hostility betwixt the Queene of Sweden<br />
and King of Denmarke he well remembreth that he saw within<br />
the sayd yeare 1644 the arlate shipp the ''Saint Peter'' (whereof Matthias<br />
Cornelison is or late was master) brought into Stockholme as a<br />
prize by one Captaine Lutziffer and another Captaine in the service<br />
of the Queene of Sweden, who had taken the same att sea from<br />
the King of Denmarke to whom formerly she<br />
did belong. And he likewise well knoweth that Daniel Slegall<br />
arlate was Commissary Generall in the parts of Pomeren of the<br />
sayd Queenees Armada and that for his service therein he was<br />
advanced by her Majesty of Sweden to the dignity of a Nobleman, and<br />
had the sayd shipp the ''Saint Peter'' and propriety of the same assigned and made over to him and<br />
so became possest thereof (which was done (as this deponent conceyveth)<br />
in allowance of<br />
moneyes expended by him in furnishing her Majestyes Navie with provisions in the sayd service, which this<br />
deponent came to know and take notice of living then in Stockhollom<br />
as aforesayd, and being severall tymes in Company of the sayd Daniel<br />
Slagall in his treaties with the officers for the Treadury of her<br />
