Transcription deponent bought the said shipps present ladeponent bought the said shipps present lading of salt with the said proceeds<br /> at or after the rate of 310 gilders for each hundred, being in all seaven<br /> hundred of salt or thereabouts, for the accompt aforesaid, and was sailing<br /> with the same for the East countrey to be delivered there for the said accompt[?s]<br /> but was met with and carried up to ffalmouth by a frigot of this<br /> Commonwealth, And otherwise hee cannot depose, saving the said<br /> [?Barndrini] is a greate dealer in salt. To the fourth article hee saith and deposeth that the arlate Claes [?CXX]<br /> was none of the shipps company nor went in her from Lubeck nor<br /> was present at the alading of the said Clapboard, nor went from Riga in<br /> the said shipp to Saint Martin, nor did this deponent ever see him till<br /> this deponent came with the said shipp to Saint Martins as aforesaid, when<br /> having about halfe delivered the said shipp, and meeting there with the<br /> said Claus who was destitute of imployment by meanes of a hamborough<br /> shipp wherein hee came thither her being there cast away, hee this<br /> deponent ther hired and shipt him to goe boatswaine of his said shipp<br /> and this was about the middle of October last past, after that this<br /> deponent had soe made sale of the said clapboards to the said [BXXXX]<br /> who before such his buying the same there of this deponent, had nt<br /> any interest whatsoever therein, but this deponent being therewith<br /> instructed was at libertie to have sold them to whom hee pleased [?XX]<br /> such sale made to the said Bourderway, And therefore hee saith that hee<br /> be by the said [?Croyer] deposed or said in his examination to be<br /> by him deposed as is in the article mentioned, the same is contrary to the truth as hee<br /> saith, and likely to have happened by misunderstanding him for<br /> this deponent could never finde or perceive that hee the said [?Croyer]<br /> understood English, but spake and understood only the East countrey<br /> language, And otherwise saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose. To the 5th hee saith that hee this deponent at his examination and [?XX]<br /> the truth was said hee was imployed by Nicholas Cordes, and did <br /> [?XXX]<br /> Cordes, and said that Andrew Dessell of Riga (and not Andrew<br /> Thessell of Rey) was part owner and lader of the said clapboards and<br /> to the truth, and that if it be otherwise set downe, it is [?erratum] To the Interrogatories To the first hee saith hee tooke chardge of and came aboard the said shipp<br /> as master upon her fitting and furnishing at Lubeck after her said building<br /> referring himselfe to his foregoeing deposition. To the second hee saith hee hath knowne the said Nicholas Cordes, William<br /> White and Albert Saffe about 20 yeares, during which they have always<br /> lived in Lubeck, and as hee beleeveth were all borne therem and that [?XXX]<br /> hee hath knowne the said Andrew Dassell to be and to have bin of Riga for theise<br /> eight yeares last and there inhabiting for all that time, and as hee beleeveth<br /> the said Andrew is a native of Riga, and that the said persons respectively<br /> keep their wives and families in the said respective places. To the third hee saith that besides the said Cordes, White and Saffa, hee<br /> this deponent, Joachim [?vrXXXXe], Detcliffe [?Deales] and Gunert [?GXXXXX]<br /> all of Lubeck, natives, and houskeepers there and have lived there all their<br /> times, were alsoe builders of the said shipp and were and are owners<br /> thereofnd were and are owners<br /> thereof  +
