deponent knoweth this the better for that heee was a witnesse to a<br />
writing mentioning the contracte made betweene the sayd John Langley and the sayd<br />
Smith to the effect predeposed, And further to this article saving his subsequent<br />
depositions hee cannot depose./
To the 4th article hee saith that the shipp the ''John and mary'' did<br />
proceede on the voyage and imployment arlate and the arlate Smith and<br />
Prince entered into pay on the seaventh day of January 1651<br />
as is arlate and arived in Ginney in the Moneth of May next insueing<br />
and came safe to the Barbados about the 8th of december next<br />
following and delivered her ladeing safely at every Port And hee further saith that<br />
the sayd Maurice Prince dyed in Guinney as a servant to the sayd<br />
Smith on or about the seaventh day of May 1652 but the sayd<br />
Abraham Smith served in the sayd shipp from the 17th of January 1651<br />
untill the 19th of August 1653 (when the sayd shipp returned to London<br />
in safety) and in soe farr as this deponent observed by him (being chirurion<br />
of the sayd shipp the sayd voyage) did performe his sayd office of Masters<br />
Mate with care and diligence And further saving his subsequent depositions<br />
hee cannot depose./
