to Nicholas Crombeene his brother but hee … to Nicholas Crombeene his brother but hee beleeveth the said William had an<br />
equall interest therein and the adventure the hazard and Riscoe thereof And<br />
further he cannot depose./
To the seaventh Interrogatory hee saith That hee did see the said bill of lading<br />
(now showed unto him and exhibited into this Court) firmed by the said Christian<br />
Cloppenbergh on the behalf of the said Nicholas Crombeene as in the same<br />
is expressed, being so signed in the house of Alonso da Sera in Cadiz which bill hee<br />
saith hee [?verily] beleeveth is true and reall and not fictitious, and saveing as aforesaid<br />
hee cannot depose./
To the 8th hee saith hee beleeveth that the said Master did only signe three bills<br />
of lading for the same Tobaccoes of one and the same Tenor, but did not signe any<br />
bill for the same as belonging to any other person then the said producent<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose./
To the 9th he saith that he knoweth not whether the said William Crombeen had<br />
any effects in his hands of his Brother the producents And saveing as aforesaid<br />
he cannot depose./
To the 10th hee saith That hee this deponent was borne in Cales and there<br />
liveth and hath noe Interest in the said Tobaccoes by Insurance or otherwise<br />
And whether the same bee restored or not hee shall not gaine or loose thereby<br />
And further hee cannot depose./
To the 11th hee saith That the said shipp was directly bound for Ostend where<br />
shee was to make her full dischardge and was not (for ought hee knoweth) to goe<br />
to any other Port or place under the Dominion of the States geneales of the<br />
United Netherland Provinces And further hee cannot depose./
To the 12. and 13th he cannot depose.
To the 14th hee saith that the said Tobaccoes now claimed were brought from<br />
the West Indies and could not bee the proceed of any of the Goods carryed out in<br />
the ''Salvadore'' upon her outward voyage because the said Lader mett with<br />
the said shipp att Cadiz after he bought the said Tobaccoes at Marachao<br />
And otherwise cannot depose./
To the 15. and 16 he saith That he knoweth not of any Insurance made upon<br />
the said ''Salvador'' or of any money taken uppp of the ffrench or dutch upon<br />
Bottomry And otherwise hee cannot depose./
To the 17th hee saith That he knoweth not of any of the Tobaccoes now claimed<br />
or of any silver plate gould pearle or any other goods wares or merchandizes<br />
that were taken out of the said shipp since the lading of the said Tobaccoes or<br />
before or since the seisure of the said shipp And otherwise cannot depose./
To the 18th he cannot depose saveing as aforesaid to which hee referreth himself
To the 19th hee saith That the said 61 potaccoes of Tobaccoes were laden<br />
within the Comand of the Castle and ffort[?s] att Cadiz in the usuall place of lading<br />
And saith that the said shipp was cleered in the Custome house and that [?three]<br />
dispatches were left there forought hee knoweth And further he cannot depose./
To the 20th hee saith That he did see the said Christian Cloppenbergh signe<br />
