To the third hee saith That he hath credib … To the third hee saith That he hath credibly heard that the said Nicholas<br />
Crombeene was and is an Inhabitant in fflanders, and saith he is comonly<br />
accompted and reputed to be a Subiect of the King of Spaine And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose./
To the 4th he saith and deposeth That the said shipp the ''Salvadore'' and<br />
her goods aforesaid and other Lading in her Course to Ostend in fflanders was<br />
mett withall surprized ad taken by one of the ffrigotts of this Commonwealth and<br />
brought into this Port of London and here detained And he saith that att the<br />
seisure of the said shipp the said sixtie one Potaccoes of Tobacco so laden as<br />
aforesaid were on board the said shipp the ''Salvadore'' and did as he beleeveth<br />
come to th hands or possession of the seisers or officers of this Comonwealth<br />
which he deposeth being on board the shipp th e''Sampson'' when the said shipp<br />
the ''Salvadore'' was taken and saw the surprizall thereof And further he cannot<br />
depose./
To the 5th he saith his foregoeing depositions were and are true./

To the first he saith that he this deponent was a passenger in the shipp the<br />
''Sampson'' but came in Company with the said shipp the ''Salvador'' And further<br />
answeareth negatively.
To the second he saith he doth not knowe the Interrogated Nicholas Crombeene<br />
but saith hee hath heard by his brother William Crombeene and others att Cadiz whom<br />
he knoweth That he the said Nicholas is accompted a subiect of the King of<br />
Spaine And otherwise hee cannot depose/
To the 3d he saith That William Crombeen brother of the sayd producent did<br />
buy the said 51 pataccoes of Tobaccoe att a faire at [?Gibbe taur] near [Marracha]<br />
in the West Indies of severall persons there, And afterwards came with them to Cadiz<br />
in the Company of this deponent and consigned them to the producent according to<br />
the said Bill of lading to which he referreth himself And otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose.
To the 4th he saith That the arlate William Crombeene comeing with the said<br />
Tobacco from Marracha in the shipp the ''Nostra Segniora de Rosario'' unto Cadiz<br />
did there cause the said 61 potaccoes of Tobaccoe to be taken out of that shipp and<br />
laden aboard the ''Salvadore'' for the Accompt of his brother the producent and<br />
not for the Accompt of any of the nation of the Hollanders or ffrench And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose./
To the 5th he saith That he did see the said 61 potaccoes of tobaccoe before<br />
they were laden aboard the ''Salvadore'' as aforesaid in the Custodie of the Interrogated<br />
William Crombeen in his house in Marracha, and saith he came along with them to<br />
Cadiz and had the same under his care and Charge in the shipp ''Nostra Signora da''<br />
''Rosario'' as aforesaid untill they were so laden aboard the ''Salvadore'' as aforesaid<br />
And further he cannot depose./
To the sixt hee saith That the said William Crombeen who laded or caused the said<br />
tobaccoe to be laden did acknowledge and confesse to this deponent that the said<br />
Tobaccoes was consigned to Nicholas Crombeene of Cortrey in fflanders<br />
And further saveing his foregoeing deposition hee cannot<br />
as to [?this] depose.
To the seaventh he saith That the said bill of lading was subscribed by the<br />
