is a ffrench shipp, and the said Captaine Audric was and is ffrenchman [XXX GUTTER]<br />
and her company (saving five who were Venetians) were alsoe ffrench, and<br />
saith the said goods claimed in this cause and all the rest claimed by the<br />
rest of the Armenians their companions, were and are their owne respective<br />
proper goods, and laden for their owne accompt and consigned to be delivered<br />
to them or assignes, and not to any ffrench what soever, nor were or<br />
are any ffrench factors to the said producents, but the said producents and the erst of the said<br />
Armenians went alonge in the shipp with intention and purpose to receive<br />
their said respective goods them selves at Ligorne and dispose of the<br />
same for their owne best advantage. And other wise saving as aforesaid<br />
hee cannot depose.
To the fourth hee saith hee hath noe interest in the said shipp nor any of<br />
the goods claimed in this cause, and otherwise hee answereth negatively<br />
saving hee hath alsoe goods aboard the said shipp for his owne accompt.
To the fifth hee saith that the said producents said marchandizes were<br />
and are commodities of the growth or manufacture of Persia, videlicet<br />
those of the said kamal of Guilan and thereabouts and by him there bought, and those<br />
of the said Jacomo of places about [?ArdXXXla] in Persia<br />
but hee the said Jacomo bought his said goods of two [?Geargians] in<br />
Smirna, which Geargians were and are alsoe Inhabitants in the<br />
dominions of the kinge of Persia, and this deponent was present and<br />
sawe the said Jacomo soe buy and pay for the said silke or goods with<br />
ready money amounting to about sixe thousand peaces of eight, and<br />
saith that at Guilan and thereabouts it is the manner and custome<br />
to buy with only ready money and not upon truck for other goods<br />
and saith hee knoweth that the said Jacomo his said goods came from<br />
the places aforesaid in Persia, because hee this examinate<br />
sawe the Caravan wherein they were brought by the said<br />
two Geargians that sold them to him the said Jacomo, whom this<br />
deponent assisted in the said buying of them, And otherwise saving<br />
his foregoeing and following deposition hee cannot depose.
To the sixth hee saith that the said Jacomo came from Ligorn[?a] to<br />
Smirna in this deponents company the said port of<br />
Ligorna being the last port they came from till they soe came to<br />
Smirna, after which arivall there hee bought the said goods, but<br />
the said kamal came alonge with the Caravan out of Persia,<br />
and saith the said goods were in the said severall p[?ersons]] custodia and<br />
possession before and at the time of the said lading thereof<br />
and came not out of any ffrench factoria, nor did any ffrench<br />
beare any hazard thereof, [?but] had ought to doe therewith, And<br />
otherwise saving as aforesaid hee cannot depose.
To the seaventh hee saith the said A[?audric] signed<br />
one other of each of the said bills of lading for the said [XXXX] soe signed, being of the same tenor<br />
with those which [XXXX] aforesaid a longe with them, which other bills<br />
[XXXX] nehind them ayt Smirna, because of any chance that might<br />
happen, and otherwise hee answereth negatively, saying the said<br />
producents were at Ligorn[?e] to pay meerely for the freight of<br />
their said goods, having before bought and paid for the same as<br />
aforesaid, and otherwise hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid<br />
and saving the said jamal was alsoe to pay Cambi[?o] money at ligorn[?a] according to his said [?bill of lading

To the eighth hee sauth there were eight of the said parliaments<br />
shipps in the Squadron that tooke the said shipp the ''Saint Martin''<br />
and her ladinge, and saith that after the said producents had [?bin GUTTER]<br />
kept aboard about tenn dayes (as hee remembreth<br />
the tyme) after the said seizure, they were by Captaine [XXX GUTTER]<br />
sent a shoare in a boate att the Ile of ffa[?v]iniana neere [?Trepany GUTTER]<br />
in Scicilia which he knoweth beinge allsoe sent a shoare [XXX GUTTER<br />
