To the second Interrogatorie hee saith that hee this deponent<br />
bought his said shares of and in the said ship the ''Mathew''<br />
''and John'' of the said William Salmon and that the same<br />
C[ost] him at the first penney and the setting and furnishing [XXXX]<br />
out to sea the summe of two hundred and 50 li sterling or<br />
thereabouts. And saith that at the said tyme of the losse<br />
of the said ship this deponent had the said shares therein.<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that when the said ship was<br />
soe seized as aforesaid shee was in her direct<br />
Course for London. which hee knoweth for the reasons<br />
by him predeposed. to which hee referreth himselfe for<br />
further answere to this Interrogatorie./
To the 4th Interrogatorie hee saith that his this deponents<br />
servant and his contest ffranciis Halliard with others<br />
of his Company belonging to the said ship the ''Mathew''<br />
''and John'' were sett on shore upon the Coast of England<br />
neare ffalmouth in Cornewall about 13 or 14 dayes after<br />
the said seizure But saith that none of the said Company<br />
save only this deponents servant did then come for<br />
Londn from thence But his said servant hee saith came<br />
up to London from thence and arrived heare about the<br />
28th day of ffebruary 1651 if not before and then gave this deponents<br />
father a letter which this deponent had wrote and sent unto him by which<br />
said letter hee saith and not before his said ffather<br />
had notice of the losse of the said ship. And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose.

at such tyme as shee was lost att the canary Ilands<br />
and was then Cooper of and abord her And saith<br />

upon the ninth day of January last past old stile<br />
