Master thereof John Akland and one of his company did depart this life Howbeit<br />
hee saith the said ship was [?him] well [XXXXed] ffitted and furnished<br />
in all respects for her voyage from h[?amas] to the Barbadas<br />
then hee saith shee had of his knowledge 140 Negroes<br />
or thereabouts abord her But where or what particulars the<br />
said Ackland [?dyed] hee saith hee knoweth not.
To the third Interrogatorie hee saith hee was at Guiney in the<br />
''XXXXX'' with Mr Willoughby in the moneths of March<br />
Aprill and May interrogated and in that shipp sailed from hence as<br />
[?Cooper] thereof to the Barbadas. And otherwise referring<br />
himselfe to his foregoeing deposition hee saith hee cannot depose
To the fowrth Interrogatorie hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing<br />
deposition and otherwise hee cannot depose saveing that<br />
at such tyme as the shipp the ''XXXXX'' was<br />
at the Barbadas the interrogated Mr Ward and Mr Hubberly departed<br />
thence with theire ships interrogated for Englan, but whether<br />
they brought any newes hither of the missing or losse of<br />
the ''Eagle'' hee saith hee knoweth not
To the 5th Interrogatorie hee saith an deposeth that hee this deponent<br />
came hime for England in the ship the ''Seaflower'' Mr C[XXXy]<br />
Commander) and arrived in the downes upon wednesday<br />
last was seaven weekes and on the ffryday next after came and<br />
arrived at [?dXckshare] where hee liveth. And saith that about<br />
5 weeks since and within a forthnight after such his arrivall<br />
[?home] hee did accidentally meete with one of the Owners of<br />
the ''Eagle'' and did then give him notice of the missing<br />
of the said ship the ''Eagle''. but the name of the said<br />
Owner hee knoweth not.
To the 6th Interrogatorie hee saith that it was this deponent as<br />
hee beleeveth that brought the first newes to England of the<br />
missing of the said ship the ''Eagle'' and that she stayed<br />
longer than was Expected from the Barbadas and was therefore<br />
suspected to bee lost at Sea and soe much hee this deponent<br />
did intimate unto one of the said Owners of her upon a Key<br />
next to London bridge about 5 weekes since but the<br />
precise tyme hee soe did or said the same hee saith<br />
hee cannot more particularly remember. And otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose
To the 7th Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the ''Eagle''<br />
was suspected and deemed to be a lost shippe before<br />
this deponent came from Barbadas And further hee<br />
cannot depose.
