The claime of John Bushell and}<br />

Examined upon the allegation in acts made 13 [?december] 1650 and exhibited therein<br />

'''Garret Johnson''' of Amsterdam in holland Mariner aged<br />
31 yeares or therebouts sworne and examined.
To the said allegation and exhibit therein mentioned, and more particularly<br />
to the seale thereof in Greene wax nowe showed unto him, hee saith and<br />
deposeth that hee verily beleeveth the same to be the publique and towne<br />
seale of the towne of Amsterdam, with the print and Impression where of<br />
hee saith hee is very well acquainted having had many of the same [?sent]<br />
to severall Instruments which hee hath carried to sea, which Instruments hee<br />
this deponent hath fetched from time to time from the Burgomaster of<br />
Amsterdam for the time being, and hath two of them in his tinne<br />
box in this court, taken in his shipp the ''Blew Unicorne'' by Captaine Bourne<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the said allegation and exhinit under seale nowe showed unto him, hee<br />
saith and deposeth that hee well knoweth the publique and common<br />
seale of Amsterdam and hath often seene the same sett and imprinted<br />
to severall writings and Instruments, and bin present at the said setting<br />
thereof unto such writings, and saith the seale or impression nowe showed<br />
unto him in Greene wax to the said exhibit, is of the very same figure<br />
and forme that is made with the said publique and common seale of<br />
the citie of Amsterdam, And therefore hee verily beleeveth the same to be made and<br />
imprinted with the said seale. And otherwise hee cannot depose, saving<br />
that hee alsoe well knoweth the signing and subscription of<br />
Gerrard hulst Secretari[?a] of the said citie, and hath often seene him set his<br />
name to publique Instruments passing under the seale of the said towne,<br />
and verily beleeveth his the said Secretaries name in the foote of the said<br />
exhinit, adioyning to the said seale to be written with his proper hand.

Upon Interrogatories on the behalfe of the said Clarke Examined.

'''Alexander Robinson''' of Saint Catherines nere the Tower London<br />
Marriner aged 30 yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined deposeth<br />
as followeth videlicet.
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth That hee did and doth very well knowe<br />
the Shipp the ''Garland'' of London Interrogated whereof John Prestman was Master att<br />
the time shee went last from this Port of London. [XXXX] did depart and sett saile<br />
from Gravesend upon or about the 4th of June last being bound for dublin in Ireland<br />
and there to make her discharge which he knoweth for that hee was Masters Mate<br />
of and in the said shipp for the then intended voyage And further hee cannot depose,
To the second hee saith that there was laden and putt abord the said Shipp att this Port of London<br />
for the Accompt of the producent George [?Clark?e] severall Butts of sackes<br />
fifteene Chests of Sugar, two [?dozen] fatts of Sugar, and (as hee beleeveth)<br />
one hundred rolles of Tobaccoe and about [XXX XXXXXXX] which Goods, and others in the said Shipp hee<br />
beleeveth were worth three thousand pounds but what the said Wines, Sugars and Tobaccoe and [XXX GUTTER]<br />
were vallued att he cannot depose saveing that hee was on bord when the said Goods were laden<br />
and Masters mate as afore saidlt;br />
