Transcription The same day On the said Allegation examiThe same day On the said Allegation examined. '''Rp.''' '''2.''' '''George H[?oarsnip]''' of the parish of Saint Mary white Chappell Mariner<br /> [?Gunner] of the shipp the ''Adventure'' aged 29 yeares or thereabouts sworne<br /> and examined deposeth as followeth./ To the first article of the said allegation and schedule therein mentioned he saith that for and dureing all the time arlate the said producent<br /> William ffishman was Master and Part owner of the shipp the ''Adventure'' and so commonly<br /> accompted reputed and taken and more especially from the Month of Aprill 1650<br /> the said ffishman was imployed by the arlate John Bewley who did hire and take the said<br /> shipp to fraight of him the said ffishman, to make a voyage to the Canary Ilands<br /> from thence to Newfound land and so to Saint Lucar in Spaine, and (the danger<br /> of the seas excepted) to returne to London, after which (as hee hath heard is related and as<br /> by Charter party was agreed) the said Bewley was to pay 110 ''li'' per month to the producent<br /> for every month that the said shipp should be and remaine in the said s[ervice] And<br /> [XXX] hee deposeth for that hee was Gunner of and in the said shipp and went the sid<br /> voyage, and other former voyages in the said shipp where [XX] the said producent was Master<br /> and Part Owner as aforesaid And otherwise referring him self to the Charter party<br /> arlate he saith hee cannot depose./ To the second hee saith that the said producent did according to his said Charter party<br /> and in performance of his said voyage receive in his said shipp his full lading [?in ?this]<br /> Port and att Gravesend for the Accompt of the said Bewley and did therewith sett<br /> forth and saile [XX] whose [XX] arrived in the predeposed ship and lading on [XX XXX XXXXX] 1650, and then hee departed on the voyage to [XX] [XXXX] a bout the 4th of May 1650 upon the said<br /> voyage in question, and did safely arrive at the Canaries, and there did unlade and<br /> deliver all such goods as were laden here by the said Bewley unto his ffactors<br /> and Agents there, And that to his knowledge there were letters writt at the<br /> Canaries by his factors to bes sent to him touching the receipt of the said [XXXX]<br /> And otherwise hee cannot depose. To the third hee saith and deposeth that after the arrivall of the said shipp att the<br /> Canaires and unlading of the said goods the said producent did take in and receive 15 pipes of Canarie wines [?which]<br /> the ffactors and Agents of the said Bewley and for his Accompt had consigned to be delivered<br /> att Newfound land and safely arriveing there hee saith the same were delivered accordingly<br /> After [?which] the said producent did alsoe receive and take in to his said shipp from the ffactors<br /> of the said [XXXX] divers parcells of ffish to bee transported to Saint Lucar<br /> and there delivered the said ffish [?and goods] upon their arivall unto such as they [XXX]<br /> [XXX] unto about the [?1st] day of November last past and not before, And so much<br /> (as hee hath heard related) the said Bewley hath confessed. And this he deposeth<br /> for the reasons aforesaid and otherwise hee cannot depose./ To the 4th hee saith and deposeth that after the said 1st day of November (att which time<br /> the said shipp was unladed of her fish from Newfond land) at Saint Lucar, she was there<br /> againe laden by the ffactors of the said Bewley with wines and other goods for the Accompt of<br /> severall persons here in this port of London, (he the said Bewley haveing then but<br /> little goods in her, And being so laden he saith that upon or about the<br /> third of december last the said shipp sett saile thierewith from Saint Lucar towards this Port of<br /> london, and in her course homewards about 12 leagues off the Iland of Scilley was<br /> seised and taken by two Scilley men of warr the one haveing 28 Gunnes and the other<br /> Eight, and after four or five houres fight, the said shipp [XX] the producent and Company were made<br /> prisoners in to the said Iland, and there kept and detained tille the same was surrendred which<br /> was [XX] was surrendred which<br /> was [XX]  +
