Ad decimum arlum dicti libelli super quo solumo examinatur<br />

ebing a Wine Cooper by profession was imployed by Mr<br />
Fernandez one of the producents in this cause in the looking<br />
after and takeing care of such wines belonging to<br />
him and Don Rodriguez Arias which were brought home<br />
from the Canaries in the shippe the ''White Tower'' arlate<br />
(whereof the arlate Claus Peeters was Master) about two<br />
moneths since, And saith that hee this deponent with<br />
his Contests Thomas Clerke and Christopher Veazey<br />
did find much of the said Wines imbeazzzeleed and<br />
Drawne out to the quantitie of 6 or 7 Tonnes<br />
of Wines or thereabouts and found therein lesse then ordinarily they<br />
have want to have in other ships bringing home the<br />
like number of Tonnes every Tonne of which wines<br />
this deponent saith was worth 38 ''li'' sterling and for<br />
soe much the same was to his knowledge afterwards<br />
sould. Et ulter ins deponit that the said Claus Peeters<br />
did his Mate (at such tyme as this deponent and<br />
his said Contests came to fetch away the said Wines<br />
from aboard the said ship the ''White Tower'') did detaine<br />
and withould one Pipe of the wines belonging to the said<br />
Mr Fernandez and which was Marked with the same mark<br />
as ll or most of the others were which did belonge to him and the<br />
said don Rodrigues as aforesaid, and likewise one<br />
Chest of Sugar as is arlate, which this deponent<br />
demanded of the said Mate, but hee saith hee refused<br />
to deliver the same. The said pipe of wine being<br />
well worth 19 ''li'' sterling. Premissa deponit hee this<br />
deponent being as aforesaid imployed about the looking<br />
after the said wines and Caske, and findeing<br />
the same to bee imbeazelled as aforesaid and worse<br />
conditioned then usually they are or have bin brought home<br />
