Mariner, aged 25 yeares or thereabouts<br />
sworne and examined deposeth to the Interrogatories<br />
ministred on the behalfe of Captaine William Greene<br />
and company as followeth videlicet.
To the first Interrogatory hee deposeth and saith that hee was on board<br />
the shipp ''ffortune'' at such time as shee first gave chase unto the<br />
two shipps or vessells the ''Phillip'' and the ''Anne and Mary'' arlate<br />
and saith they being in company were first chased by the said shipp<br />
the ''ffortune'' on or about thursday last was seavenight about noone<br />
on the coast of Bretaby in the kingdome of ffrance, and were<br />
both there surprized and taken on the open and high seas<br />
and not in any port or harbour, and both belonging to places<br />
in ffrance, which hee knoweth being boatswaines mate of the ''ffortune''<br />
and helping to take them, Et alr nescit.
