To the first pretended position they<br />
answer and beleeve and every of them<br />
answereth and beleeveth that those<br />
respondents in the yeares 1648 and<br />
1649 and untill the takeing of the shipp<br />
the ''Royall merchant'' which was in or<br />
about the moneth of december Anno<br />
domini 16[?49] and noe longer ut credunt<br />
were owners fraighters and imployers<br />
every one of them of a sixt parte of<br />
the shippe the ''Royall merchant''<br />
arlate and noe more ut credunt and<br />
soe Accounted, ut credunt and that<br />
these rendents and the other freighters<br />
ut credunt did appoint the articulate<br />
Atkinson to goe Master of the shipp arti=<br />
culate and to hire marriners for the<br />
said voyadge And otherwise for theire parts<br />
they nor any of them doe not beleeve<br />
the said pretensed position to bee true in<br />
any parte thereof.
