notwithstandinge as this Rendent<br />
beleeveth steered her East northeast<br />
or otherwise shee could not have been<br />
runne aground and cast away where<br />
shee was as this Rendent eleeveth<br />
And otherwise for his parte hee doeth not<br />
beleeve the said position to bee true in<br />
any parte thereof
To the seaventh pretensed position hee answe<br />
reth and beleeveth That the arlate Sumpter<br />
and the rest of the parties mentioned and<br />
expressed in the schedule annexed to his<br />
this rendents answers were in the said<br />
shipp the ''Ulisses'' from the time of thir<br />
entrance into pay as aforesaid untill<br />
the time the said shipp was lost and cast<br />
away which was upon the 23th of<br />
October in the morneing 1650 as this<br />
Rendent remembreth And otherwise for<br />
his parte hee doeth not beleeve the said<br />
pretensed position to bee true in any parte<br />
thereof
To the eight pretensed position hee answereth<br />
and beleeveth that the said Sumpter and<br />
Companye had on board the said shipp<br />
the ''Ulisses'' some Adventures but to what<br />
value this Rendent knoweth not And<br />
otherwise for his parte hee doeth not beleeve<br />
the said pretensed position to bee true in any<br />
parte thereof
To the ninth pretensed position this Rendent<br />
